The Brazilian Journal of Health Systems Management – BJHSM comes out in a moment that health services and systems face expressive challenges within the public and private spheres. Changes in economic, political, sociocultural, demographic, technological and natural environments alter the structural, administrative and technical dimensions of these services and systems demanding more effective and innovative solutions. Within this context, the BJHSM emerges a means by which scholars and practitioners can discuss scientific papers aimed at increasing the understanding and knowledge on health services and systems management. Therefore, themes of interest include but are not limited to: • Challenges and trends in healthcare management; • Strategic issues in global healthcare management; • Strategic management in healthcare organizations (structure, performance, operational excellence, project management, quality, ethics, etc); • Public health management and wellbeing (investments, resource allocation, public policies, disease surveillance and prevention, risk factors, etc); • Legal issues in healthcare management; • Entrepreneurship and innovation in healthcare services and systems; • Organizational behavior in healthcare organizations (leadership, negotiation, communication, culture, power, teams, etc); • Technology management in healthcare industry; • Supply chain management and operations management in healthcare industry; • Education and research focused on healthcare and the theory/practice relationship; • Managerial information systems in healthcare organizations; • Social and environmental responsibility; • Financial management and auditing in healthcare services and systems; • Marketing management in healthcare industry. As a scientific publication, BJHSM prefers scientific studies, in both empirical and theoretical forms. Although, we welcome practical/technical ones such as technical reports and real case studies in health services and systems. BJHSM will publish articles in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
